Mobile marketing is the next big thing.  It’s not new.  Nobody has “invented” it recently as you will see some idiot guru’s claiming.  It’s been around for a while, but it’s been widely ignored by mainstream affiliate marketing.  Reason being the technology to run the sites on mobile phones and make them look usable and correct is different for each type of phone.  With Google’s Android phone and of course Apple’s Iphone coming out and dominating the market now, it’s easier to just focus on those two platforms successfully.

Some Numbers

To prove that mobile is the next big thing, here’s some very powerful numbers to look at:

• 234 million people age 13 and older in the U.S. used mobile devices in December 2009
• The use of mobile applications grew by more than 40% in 2009. (2008-2009 ComScore, MMetrics)
• 67% of the world’s population, or two-thirds total, are mobile subscribers–far outweighing online access. Mobile Marketing Watch, February 24, 2010
• 56% of companies plan to increase budgets for mobile marketing in 2010
• Marketers plan to increase their online marketing budgets by an average of 17% this year, drawing money away from traditional channels, like print.

Plus just think about it, how many people do you know that own a mobile phone?  How many of those people don’t leave home without it?  The numbers are staggering.  You simply cannot lug your PC Desktop computer in your pocket and that’s where a lot of companies are advertising right now.  This does change the online world a bit.  The mobile phone display is tiny.  As marketers we need to understand how to best utilize this huge opportunity.  This means we’re going to have to adapt and use mobile friendly sites more and more in all our marketing efforts.

What Does This Mean For Affiliate Marketers?

It means we’re back in the days of Google Adwords from 2000.  Techniques we haven’t even thought of yet are going to come about.  It’s an exciting time.  What was once old is new again.  The same went for pay per click advertising online will go for mobile advertising in the future.  Right now the technologies are new, the ideas are abundant and the chance for affiliate marketers is huge.

We will be paying anyone owed money from the network on schedule. (Most are still 30 day net terms). Meaning July’s payments will be made at the start of September. June’s payments are going out beginning of August.

I have nothing but respect for any CPA Network owner. If you’re not one, you will never fully understand the massive amount of crap they put up with daily. We learned a lot and the biggest lesson was, we don’t want to be a part of that side of the business at this point in time. It’s sleepless nights, it’s a rollercoaster of monster months, then losses because you had to cover for a flakey advertiser or two. Some affiliates are awesome, but some are just plain assholes. The sheer volume of CONSTANT fraud going on from unscrupulous affiliates is mind boggling. We had some very good systems in place to catch them, but catching them daily trying anything they can to game the system wears on you. If the meatheads who do all the fraud actually did the work instead of trying every shortcut known to man, they’d make far more money.

I’m sure I’ll be called a failure because of this decision. But I’m far from that. The more you fail in life the better off you’re going to be. If you never take a shot at anything, you’re settling for nothing. I succeed BECAUSE I fail. I fail alot and that makes me very successful in my business. I could probably keep the network going, but the roi just says no. This is what life is all about, making the tough decisions no matter the reprecussions are.

We had a great run, but we’re going to leave this side of the business for now. Never say never though. We may relaunch down the road with a physical office, a fraud department and a staff of 10 to 20 or so.

We’re at it again. We never stop trying to figure out how to help you guys as best we can. We know people love case studies, but some of the case studies we’ve seen on other sites are pretty thin on content. Our months system can be thought of as case studies because they provide our members with methods and techniques to use to do pay per click marketing. However, one of the best ways to learn is to take a “busted” campaign, (one that didn’t work), and figure out what went wrong.

Busted Campaigns

This is something unique to PPC Coach. In this section, we want you to post a “busted” campaign. We will then tell you why it didn’t work. The more information you provide in the initial post the better, but at a minimum we require answers to the following questions:

1. What offer were you promoting?
2. What was the goal, (profit per day), for the campaign?
3. Where exactly were you trying to promote it, (traffic source)?
4. What was your maximum spend per keyword, (for search network) OR your maximum spend per adgroup, (for content network).
5. What was your daily budget?
6. Were you direct linking or using a landing page?
7. Sample of your ads or banners.
8. Sample of your keywords or entire list.
9. How you were managing the campaign?

Using the above information as a template, we will then go through and explain why it didn’t work. Please provide as much information as possible. Think of this section as a “reverse” case study approach.  You show us what you did, we show you what you need to improve.

Learn From Other Peoples Mistakes

That’s What Month 4a Is All About

This niche is one that allows you to build an excellent stream of income and like a campfire, the more wood you throw on it the more it will produce. I wish I could tell you more about it, but I can’t. It wouldn’t be fair to the paying members of the site. All I can really say is it works, works well and creates some nice income. The type of income that you can literally take a month off and still get paid. If that intrigues you, all you need to do is stick around. Our forums are over 124,000 posts now, our member base is growing STILL after being open non stop for so long and we are the #1 ppc affiliate marketing site on the internet. It’s all thanks to our awesome members. If you’re not one, you should be.

I’m so sick of liars online.  There are way too many fakers out there.  I would bet you that of the affiliate marketing population, 5% do over $500,000 net profit per YEAR.  The rest just quote retarded gross numbers which DO NOT MATTER.  Affiliates doing $100,000 a month and spending $90,000 to do it are not impressive.  Sure they “make” over a million a year, but they really only do about $120,000 NET.  That’s a big difference and it’s very annoying.

But Gross Numbers Just Look Good

No they don’t, they’re not real.  Reveune and profit are two very different things.  Revenue is the amount  of money you bring in BEFORE expenses.  Those expenses can be very high for most affiliate marketers.  Profit is the true measure of a real affiliate AND nobody shows net numbers. Even the guys showing “costs” are only showing costs on one traffic source to make it look like they’re doing way more net then they really are.

Say That Again?

It’s simple, affiliates and “suckers” who fall for “proof of income” bullshit watch these so called gurus log into their CPA network account, then login to say their Adwords account. So now you’ve seen the cost and the revenue right? WRONG. You’ve seen the revenue and you’ve seen ONE source of costs. You will NEVER see them all, ever. That same guy who is trying to push is “next greatest thing to sliced bread” product on you is not lying, they’re just not telling the whole truth. They’re showing you a portion of their costs, but never the full picture. Anyone can do this. In fact I’ve decided to make a checklist for gurus who want to fake their real profits, just so they make sure they don’t screw it up and accidentially reveal that they only made 5% ROI in total.  Just follow these simple steps:

1. Send a ton of traffic to your favorite CPA networks best converting offer.  Make a lot of sales to make it look real impressive to the CPA Network, (Did I mention the CPA network has zero clue what your costs were?)
2. This traffic can come from any and all traffic sources you want.  Usually use about 5 to 10.  You can even lose money on some sources if you want, nobody will ever know the truth.
3. Login to your CPA network account “live” so that you can videotape yourself doing so.  Show what a big wheeler you are by showing an impressive revenue only number.
4. Login to ONE of your traffic sources and show the costs for the same timeframe.  Only login to one of ten that you’re using though.  This will give the impression that  you used ONE traffic source to generate those huge numbers at the CPA Network.
5. Now sell your product to the guys drooling over your “not quite accurate” numbers.
6. Make it a one time offer and close up shop quickly so you don’t attract too much attention.
7. Rinse and Repeat with your next product.

That’s all their is to it.  So in reality, you could have generated $100,000 in a month on a CPA network.  You could have had 10 traffic sources pushing traffic to it, each one spending $11,000 per month.  So you login to ONE, show a cost of $11,000 and people just assume that you made $100,000 on $11,000 spent.  Your CPA network will never know the difference.  They’ll never know you actually spent 10 x $11,000 = $110,000 to generate $100,000 in revenue.  (A loss of $10,000).  But you dont’ have to even mention the other 9 places you bought traffic.  Now you’d think a $10,000 loss would not be good right?  WRONG, suckers who fall for this bullshit eat up “proof of income” crap like nobody’s business.

Why Would You Lose Money, I Don’t Get It?

You lost money on the campaign, but you won’t lose money on your product.  Your product can sell for $1,000 a pop now.  You’re a real baller, the real deal, you PROVED your income?  Suckers believe everything they read online, they want to think it’s possible for them too and you just hit their hottest of hot buttons.  SO now you sell 250 copies of your product at $1,000 a pop, that’s 250 x $1,000 = $250,000 in revenue!  So you had a $10,000 loss though right?  Big deal, $250,000 = $10,000 = $240,000 PROFIT.

So Why Do You Care About This?

I don’t really care that much about it.  It’s the way she goes as Ray from Trailer Park Boys would say.  It’s not going to change, but people need to be aware of it.  You’re never, never, never going to know the true profit of any online marketer.  They’re always going to make it look like they make more then they do.  I”ve seen too many members of my sites and been members of other sites where members join this fabulous new system expecting 100% to 200% ROI and are so confused when they can’t even get 50% ROI.  They can’t get it because it never happened.  If you bought a product based on the guys “proof of income” and not for it’s real value, then you may find yourself in this position.  Knowing is half the battle.

It was a great month, tons of new sign ups to the site, but now it’s back to normal for us.  We’re increasing the price back up to the normal $49.99 per month as of midnight tonight.  One thing about us is we’ve never raised our price in the past 2.5+ years.  Well that may change soon.  I’ve got some tools in development that may force me to raise the price for the first time ever.  These tools are going to require their own servers and dedicated servers are not cheap.  I’m still on the fence about raising the price though because I like where it’s at right now.  However, we’ve go so much content/tools/videos right now that we should be priced as the most expensive ppc affiliate marketing training site out there.

We’re considering changing up the pricing structure a bit as well.  We’re thinking of doing one of the following:

• a one time price, then lower monthly price per month after that
• a large one time fee which gives full access to all sections from day one
• a package deal which would involve a monthly fee for access to Mediabuyscoach.com, PPC-Coach.com, CPVcoach.com and a new site we’ve been working on for newbies that includes all traffic methods.
• the same package deal above, but a one time fee, then a lower monthly fee per month.
• the same package deal above, but for a one time fee for full access.
