That is the million, (or multi million dollar), question! A lot of us Facebook marketers like to split up ad sets by individual interests and run multiple smaller ad sets. However is that the “right” way to do it? Sure it can work, it’s worked for me for years. But is Facebook telling us to do something different?

Have you heard of “learning spend” versus “optimization spend”? Well I hadn’t really heard much about it either. I knew Facebook runs a small test part of your budget to each ad you create in order to see how it performs, but know I wonder, how many ads did I create that I gave up on too early? How many were those small ad sets verus one big one? If I run one big ad set, how in the heck does that work?

I mean you can’t just throw good money after bad. So there must be a way to make it work. I currently have experiments running testing out some theories based on this video. The results so far are inconclusive but they just started running this morning! So let’s use what Facebook is telling us and see if we can make it work.
